We have a plan
Yesterday was another false alarm. The contractions went away as soon as I had breakfast.
We went to the doctor yesterday afternoon (to a rousing chorus of, "Wow, you're still here?"). I hadn't made any progress since Friday, but the ultrasound showed good fluid levels and he appears to not be a posterior baby anymore.
We were sent over to the hospital for a non-stress test, and he cooperated beautifully - strong, steady heartbeat around 120 (a very mellow boy heartbeat) and great accelerations when he wiggled around. I had one contraction during the 45- minute test. ONE.
My doctor's office doesn't like you to go much beyond 41 weeks, which is where we will be on Saturday, so we were given the choice to induce on Friday or Monday. We chose Friday, given that Monday is our 2-year wedding anniversary. I will go in Friday evening (after an early anniversary dinner at a yet-undecided Napa restaurant) and start the process.
So hopefully I will be a mom by Mother's Day! And as Josh said last night, you never know, it could still happen between now and then.
I kind of wish it would happen on its own - it feels a little strange to be orchestrating my son's birthday. But at the same time, I know it's best for both of us.

Ok, now??
Had some contractions last night, a few that woke me up in the middle of the night until... YEEOWCH-5:15 a.m.-you-are-NOT-sleeping-through-this-one contraction. They've continue consistently about every 5-7 minutes since then.
But then again, it's only been 45 minutes. I guess I'm just hoping they don't go away this time.
Either way we have a doctor's appointment today and if this isn't it, we're going to schedule an induction.
I'll post later after the appointment if this is nothing, but otherwise, cross your fingers for me.
In the meantime, I'm off to pace the living room...

Cinco de Mayo
Today is officially Baby Price's due date. Apparently, he has already inherited his mother's ability to meet deadlines because there is no sign of him.
After Thursday night's practice run of contractions basically all night, they tapered off Friday morning. We had our 39-week checkup yesterday, and while I'm still showing progress (she was able to strip my membranes - OUCH), it could still be a few days. We made another appointment for Wednesday in hopes of not keeping it.
And as of this morning, I'm feeling nothing.
Does tequila bring on contractions?
Happy Cinco de Mayo! At least if he's not born today, that narrows down our name choices - no more Jose Cuervo Price. Or Barbaro Price.
Do Mint Juleps bring on contractions?

7 minutes apart...
After a few days of basically no activity whatsoever, I've been thinking Little Man Price (aka Fisher, aka Buster) was going to hang out forever.
Well, maybe not. For the last two hours, I've been having contractions about seven minutes apart, and they've been lasting about a minute or so.
The good news is that even if this is a false alarm, it finally forced me to pack my hospital bag!
