Ugh...

Remember how yesterday I said how cute it is that Will is becoming so verbal? Yes, adorable, except he spent two hours last night squealing and shrieking IN HIS SLEEP. What is up with that? I finally had to move us both out of the bedroom so Daddy could sleep.

Where is the mute button on this thing?

And Week 6...

We've had a couple of milestones this week. First, Will reached out this morning and grabbed my sweatshirt. I think it was on purpose, and we both were equally shocked that he did it! He's also been extremely verbal lately with all kinds of different noises, including one shriek that scared the daylights out of me. He seems like he really wants to laugh soon.

Mommy's milestone is she finally caught one of Will's smiles on camera. He's been smiling since he was just about two weeks old. I wasn't sure they were real smiles since he was so young, but the doctor confirmed they were when he shot her a wide, toothless grin during one of our weight check appointments. I love them - just when I'm at the end of my rope because he's up every hour (another new trick this week - what happened to my 4 hours straight at night??!!), he smiles at me through his bottle. It kills me.

The photo of Josh and Will is from Josh's first Father's Day! (He shaved that crazy mustache the next day, thank goodness.)

Week 5

Grandma Patti and Uncle Sean came to visit this week. Uncle Sean fed Will a couple times, but somehow managed to sneak out of here without changing a diaper. What's up with that?!
Will also enjoyed some serious sleepy time with Daddy.

Week 4

I've been terrible about posting, so I'm just going to throw up some random photos. Here's Will in his fourth week!

Random Body Parts

Some random photos. The top one is Will's hand in Josh's.

The middle one is of Will's GIANT (Hobbit-like) foot - it's fun to compare it to the 3-D ultrasound photo below of his foot. It's huge. I would like to point out I took this photo while Will was awake and very squirmy. Next time I'll wait until he conks out.

The third photo is just because I loved that outfit. Josh thought it was a little too girly, but I think it's adorable.

Week 3...

Someone along the way told us about a "3-Week Growth Spurt." Wow. Suddenly our adorable, calm, smiley, sleepy baby has turned into a ravenous beast. Will is napping maybe for an hour or two a day, sleeping for 2, 3-hour stretches at night, and eating every hour if not more often in between.

I had it so easy and I had no idea.

But he's also growing like a weed and starting to look more and more like a baby (as opposed to a newborn, or an alien for that matter). He's getting more hair, which looks like it might be red like Mommy's. His eyes are sometimes brown, sometimes a steely green color like Daddy's.

Will had his first "real" bath this week, though I'm still too chicken to really submerge him. He didn't like it so much, but he looked adorable all wrapped up in the towel afterwards.

Week 2

Here are some photos of Will's second week on this planet. He's been a remarkably good baby so far, letting us sleep for a 4-hour stretch most nights. He also smiled for the first time when he was about a week and a half old. Luckily, he did it again at the doctor's office so we confirmed they are real smiles of recognition, not just gas.

The funny thing is he smiles at Mommy, Daddy, and his most favorite member of the household - the ceiling fan. Go figure.

After losing a fair amount of weight after birth (he went from 7 lbs, 15.6 oz to 6 lbs, 9 oz), he's gained most of it back. At our most recent pediatrician appointment, he was 7 lbs 14 oz, and we're guessing he's well over 8 lbs by now. He's growing out of his newborn outfits already! What's next, college?!
